We offer a range of products and services, including digital downloads of Master Data, subscriptions, and custom imaging services.

Yes, it is important for us to always require an account for customers, as these are all digital download or subscription-based goods, and you need a place to manage those, and we need a place to keep that available for you.

All of our Dark Matters Master Data sets are stored in Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) hosted in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud. This allows us to offer the highest uptime, transfer rate and security for all transactions on the service.

To be mindful of customer choice and download times, we provide calibrated and stacked  FITS Masters for all of our data master products and subscription data. For custom imaging services we provide 16-bit FITS directly from our cameras along with the correct flats, darks, and bias frames to ensure proper calibration.

Due to the nature of our products, we do not offer refunds for Master Data, Subscriptions, or Custom Projects. If you use the Custom Projects service and there is an egregious error we will work with you to ensure you get the data you desired.

A Data Subscription is a recurring payment option we allow that offers substantial amounts of data from one or more of our telescopes, and heavy discounts over the normal price of data sets, and many other subscriber-only benefits. You can learn more about them on our Subscriptions Page. 

Data Subscriptions can be purchased from the top menu item labeled Data Subscriptions. Please note that only Credit Card orders are accepted for Subscriptions at this time.

Subscribers post onto a subscriber only forum on our site for the specific system and give us feedback on objects they would like to have imaged. That feedback is collated and targets are defined from it. These are loaded into the systems alongside objects we have defined ourselves. As those projects on objects finish, we post the data to the site, and subscribers download it with a 100% discount.

That varies with what we are shooting. On average it is about 25 hours. Some more and some less, but the sake of trying to think it through assume the average is 25 hours and that we get 3-5 targets every month, per system.

No, your Data Subscriptions appears under the Subscriptions tab on the My Account page. From there, you can manage all aspects of your Data Subscription, and the rest of the purchases you have made with us, all from the same interface.

We charge tax only for residents of the State of Washington. We are required by state law to collect and submit taxes for customers that live in WA state as that is where our LLC is founded and is licensed from. We do not collect any other tax or VAT fees otherwise.
